RF Surgical Systems is the market leader in prevention and detection of retained surgical items through its RF Assure Detection System. RF Surgical plans to use new funding to drive customer growth, expand its sales and field support team, and intensify R&D programs. R&D work includes development of a tagging solution for surgical instruments and other patient-safety products. The company is based in Bellevue, Washington, has R&D facilities in San Diego, holds U.S. patents, and received FDA clearance to market the system in November 2006.
