Rhythmia Medical Inc. develops medical devices for treating arrhythmia and is based in Burlington, Massachusetts. The company was founded in 2004 by two Israeli entrepreneurs and is led by co-CEOs and founders Doron Harlev and Leon Amariglio. Rhythmia has raised about $22 million in equity funding since inception and last year received two Small Business Innovation Research grants from the National Institutes of Health. In the current funding effort it raised $5 million in equity from eight investors and the SEC filing shows it remains $2 million short of a $7 million target. Participant identities in the latest round were not disclosed, though Norwich Ventures has been an active backer and led a $7 million Series B three years ago. The company previously sold $2.7 million in a third-round equity sale to 14 investors in March.
