Ricursive Intelligence
335 Everett Avenue, Palo Alto, CA, 94301, United States
Overview
Ricursive Intelligence is creating an artificial intelligence system capable of designing and continuously refining AI chips, including generating its own silicon substrate layer to accelerate performance gains. The company’s approach builds on AlphaChip, a reinforcement-learning–based chip-layout technique that its founders previously deployed across four generations of Google’s TPU processors. By repeatedly optimizing designs, Ricursive believes its technology can drastically shorten chip-development cycles on the path toward artificial general intelligence. Founded by former Google researchers CEO Anna Goldie and CTO Azalia Mirhoseini, the startup formally launched only two months ago. Since launch, it has secured $335 million in funding and now carries a $4 billion valuation. Key backers include Lightspeed, Sequoia, DST Global, Nvidia’s NVentures, Felicis Ventures, 49 Palms Ventures, and Radical AI. Ricursive plans to apply its capital toward product development and scaling its AI-driven chip-design platform.
