RIDI Corporation is South Korea’s largest digital content publication and distribution company, known for revitalizing the Korean e-book industry and supporting web novels, webcomics, animation, articles and news media. The company operates Manta, a global webcomics subscription service cited for its growth potential. RIDI was recently recognized as the first unicorn in Korea’s content platform industry with an enterprise value of KRW 1.6 trillion following a KRW 120 billion investment. With the new capital, RIDI plans to strengthen its global expansion and enhance competitiveness. The company will invest in original content and actively build a content value chain comprising webnovels, webcomics, videos, and OSTs by leveraging its key IPs. CEO Kisik Bae said the financing both validates RIDI’s competitiveness and secures partners to help expand its business globally beyond Korea.
