Riogrande
Mexico City, Distrito Federal, Mexico
Overview
Riogrande builds and scales local consumer brands through incubation and targeted acquisitions, focusing on home, kitchen and beauty categories sold on marketplaces like MercadoLibre and Amazon. The founders — Tono Mandly, Federico Naides and Ivan Amelong — started the company in Mexico City in 2021 and come from Rocket Internet and Delivery Hero backgrounds. After participating in Y Combinator, Riogrande says it has taken several home brands from zero to $1M in revenue within two months. The company aims to run a smaller, more intensive portfolio (about 30 brands) rather than hundreds, targeting roughly $30M in revenue per brand. Riogrande doubled its revenue in the past year, is already profitable, and says it can comfortably shift between growth and profitability. Management targets $1 billion in topline with 35% EBITDA margins as its long-term goal.
