The company announced a $2 million pre-seed financing to support expansion and broader production in response to existing demand. RoboDeck has developed an autonomous, Roomba‑like robot that maps decks and precisely sprays a clear protective sealant to maintain wooden decking over time. The company designed its own mapping and routing technology, custom spray nozzles, and a formulated sealant to maximize coverage while keeping costs low. RoboDeck is intended to be sold via a subscription that covers the robot and a steady supply of stain cartridges, with pricing that varies by deck size and local weather patterns. The prototype can currently maintain up to 500 square feet on a single cartridge/charge; for larger decks the company is developing a docking station that will recharge the bot and automatically refill a cartridge up to three times. RoboDeck’s spray is transparent and meant for ongoing maintenance rather than restoring heavily weathered decks, and the team estimates running the robot will cost about 50% less than hiring a pro for annual maintenance. The product is in late prototype stages and the company was one of 20 startups competing at TechCrunch Disrupt’s Startup Battlefield.
