Robotiq makes end-of-arm tooling (plug-and-play grippers), force sensors, camera technology and related software for collaborative robots used in manufacturing. Its products enable tasks such as pick-and-place, light assembly, finishing and quality testing, freeing humans for higher-value work and addressing labor shortages. The company sells through a global network of more than 190 distributors across 48 countries and counts customers including Assa Abloy, Continental Automotive and Saint-Gobain. Robotiq was spun out of a Laval University project and the founders met as students; the company was founded in 2008.
