Roboxi

Vestre Svanholmen 12, Sandnes, Rogaland, 4313, Norway

Overview

Founded in 2018 and based on Forus outside Stavanger, Roboxi develops autonomous robots for runway and airfield operations. Its robots operate autonomously on runways, taxiways and apron areas and are equipped with AI-driven image processing to detect and collect foreign object debris, inspect runway lights, measure pavement with 3D laser and scare off birds and wildlife. The company has run tests with Avinor at Sola and Alta airports and established projects or engagements at Frankfurt, Schiphol, Firenze and Dallas. Roboxi reported having spent about NOK 130 million since inception, employed 18 people, and been in contact with around 300 airports worldwide. The recent NOK 140 million emission is intended to help scale operations, fulfill contracted and expected work, and continue product and market development. When seeking capital in the U.S. last year the company had been priced at about NOK 400 million, though it did not disclose a valuation for the recent round.
