RocketBank operates a mobile banking app (currently iOS-only) that lets users make "mobile address-book money transfers" using an e-mail address or e-wallet number instead of bank details. The startup is not a bank itself and partners with Intercommerz Bank to issue users a Visa debit card, offering free card loading and worldwide ATM withdrawals. It charges a fixed monthly subscription fee of 290 rubles (about $9) and currently has several thousand users. Founders Victor Lysenko (CEO) and Oleg Kozyrev launched the company in July last year with about $200,000 in initial funding. The team emphasizes design and technology as core differentiators and says it is developing products in parallel with Western mobile banks rather than copying any single model. RocketBank plans to scale operations, expand into regional and new markets, and build an Android version of its app using the new capital.
