RocketSpace operates as a tech accelerator and membership workspace that has hosted more than 800 startups since its founding in 2011, with alumni including Uber, Spotify and Practice Fusion. The company provides programs and network access aimed at helping startups scale and enter new markets, particularly China. RocketSpace has been working in China for about 24 months to build partnerships and facilitate members’ market entry into cities such as Shenzhen and Beijing. It is planning international expansion including a London campus slated for 2017 and further expansion of its San Francisco headquarters. Financially, RocketSpace received a $336 million investment in 2016 to fund both local and international growth; the company does not disclose a valuation. Leadership says the capital will allow RocketSpace to expand its San Francisco campus and replicate its campus model abroad.
