Roll

Overview
Roll provides a mobile platform (iOS and Android) where fans pay monthly subscriptions ranging from $5 to $50 to access content they cannot see on a creator’s public social channels. The app intentionally strips away likes and comments, positioning itself as a more casual and authentic space for sharing photos, videos, and memes that normally stay in a phone’s camera roll. Creators retain 80% of subscription revenue, and adult content is prohibited. At launch, about 20 creators—including Dillon Francis, Noah Schnapp, Tana Mongeau, Sommer Ray, Stassie Karanikolaou, and David Dobrik—are onboard, with plans to onboard 10–15 additional creators each week before opening the self-serve creator portal. Founder and CEO Erik Zamudio, who previously worked on David’s Disposable (the app that evolved into Dispo), designed Roll specifically to address creators’ demand for simple paywall tools. Although Roll launched with a small roster, its tiered pricing model allows niche creators (e.g., recipe or tutorial focused) to command higher rates. The company’s early go-to-market strategy centers on high-profile influencers to drive initial fan adoption and demonstrate revenue potential.
