Overview
Rollbar provides developers with an automated, real-time error monitoring and response SaaS platform that identifies, prioritizes and helps resolve coding errors. The platform integrates with development tool chains, offers workflow capabilities, and gives coverage and insights into broken code across the development lifecycle. Used by thousands of companies, Rollbar counts customers such as Salesforce, Twilio, Uber, Instacart, Twitch and Kayak. Led by CEO and co-founder Brian Rue, the company plans to use new funding to double headcount across its U.S., Budapest and Barcelona offices and recruit additional sales and engineering roles. Rollbar also intends to invest in improving customer experience and support. The company recently raised new Series B funding to support these growth and product priorities. Rollbar provides a real-time error monitoring platform that helps developers and DevOps teams detect application errors as new software is deployed, notify the right team, and deliver rich contextual data for faster debugging. The platform enables engineering teams to resolve errors quickly post-deploy without compromising security. Rollbar emphasizes protection of sensitive data and compliance with industry standards such as ISO 27001 and HIPAA. The service is already in use at several thousand organizations, including Salesforce.com, Twilio, Dell, Instacart, Kayak, WalMart, and One Medical. The company intends to use recent funding to continue developing the platform and expand its global customer reach. Rollbar is led by co-founders Brian Rue (CEO) and Cory Virok (CTO). Rollbar (formerly Ratchet.io) is an error-tracking product that groups exceptions and shows the history and context for each issue so alerts are actionable. The service assigns five severity levels from debug to critical and de-duplicates errors to indicate whether issues are new or re-opened. It offers advanced search, deploy tracking, comments, automatic customer support emails, forensics, and integrations with GitHub Issues, PivotalTracker and Asana. Rollbar’s platform-agnostic JSON API supports Ruby, Python, PHP, Node.js, JavaScript and Flash, with iOS and Android support planned in a few months. Developers can integrate in about five minutes and view data in an online dashboard. Customers pay on a usage-based occurrences model starting at $12/month up to $500/month; current customers include MapMyRun, Everest, Sincerely, CrowdFlower, Instacart, InstaEDU, Spruce Media, MessageMe, Homejoy, Bombfell and SocialSci.
