Roozt.com is an Internet platform that connects cause-conscious brands with Gen Y (18–35) online shoppers. Launched six months prior to the article, the site offers daily deals from socially-responsible companies and has amassed over 50,000 members. The company recently launched the “Roozt Cause” program, featuring a new monthly cause (Water, Education, Hunger, Environment) as the direct beneficiary of customer purchase donations. Roozt is led by CEO and co-founder Brent Freeman and operates satellite offices in San Francisco and New Orleans in addition to its Los Angeles base. Financially, the company completed a $250K seed round from undisclosed angel investors and received an additional strategic investment from Causecast.
