Rotoliptic Technologies is developing a two-part high-efficiency pump architecture for oil and gas applications intended to simplify deployment, lower operating costs, and serve a broad range of pumping needs. The company says the Rotoliptic pump can reduce energy consumption by up to 40 percent. Rotoliptic received a $2.89 million federal government investment to support development and commercialization and will use the funding to expand its team. The company hopes to have the product ready for sale within the next two years and has begun hiring immediately. Headquartered in Squamish, BC, Rotoliptic currently has nine employees and plans to add six more local jobs. Executive leadership framed the technology as having potential to significantly cut industrial pumping’s share of global electricity use and greenhouse gas emissions.
