Rove
250 Greenwich Street, 39th Floor, New York, NY, 10007, United States
Overview
Rove’s core product is a universal mile loyalty program and a Chrome shopping extension that awards points convertible into airline miles when users shop with over 7,000 merchants or book hotels. The startup partners with airline mile programs (11 airlines named) and routes affiliate and hotel commissions into miles for users rather than sharing revenue with credit-card issuers. Hotel bookings can be especially valuable—Rove says some hotels share up to 40% of sales as commission and Rove passes that as miles to users. Users can combine Rove miles with any credit-card miles they already have, and Rove’s travel portal helps find the best award-flight redemptions across roughly 140 carriers via partner transfer routes. The company highlights Gen Z as a primary target, addressing consumers who lack credit history for traditional rewards cards. Rove participated in Y Combinator’s winter 2024 batch and has struck partnerships with 11 airline programs, including Air France-KLM, Aeromexico, Finnair, and Qatar Airways. Financially, the company has raised $2 million from investors including Y Combinator, General Catalyst, and Soma Capital.
