Rowden develops and manufactures sensing and information systems intended for edge environments where connectivity is degraded and decisions are time-critical. The company supplies UK government customers including the Ministry of Defence, the British Army, Cyber and Special Operations Command, and Scottish Fire and Rescue, and also exports its technology internationally. Rowden contributes to programs such as Human Machine Teaming, ASGARD, and the AUKUS AI for Acoustics program. Founded by CEO Rob Harper, the company was bootstrapped to its current scale and now employs around 160 skilled workers. With the National Wealth Fund investment, Rowden plans to expand its manufacturing footprint with two new sites in the Southwest and West Midlands and build an advanced test and evaluation facility, while scaling headcount toward 500 roles by 2032.
