Its platform is designed to enable agile operations, self-service IT, private and hybrid clouds, and other IT-as-a-service initiatives. The company says its systems improve responsiveness to business lines, reduce compliance risks, and help resource-constrained IT organizations significantly reduce operating costs. rPath serves clients including some of the world’s largest enterprises and ISVs. The company is based in Raleigh, N.C. and has raised multiple venture rounds totaling $32.5M to date. rPath offers rBuilder, software that lets vendors preconfigure and roll out consistent images and application instances across multiple virtualization platforms and cloud providers. The platform supports deployment to environments such as Amazon and VMWare and can maintain and monitor deployed instances. rBuilder can automatically update images with code and software patches, as well as handle configuration and backups. The product targets medium-to-large scale cloud and virtualization rollouts where a consistent production environment is essential for troubleshooting and maintenance. rPath announced new customers including the Department of Energy, CERN, 3SP and Avinity Systems. The company recently closed a $10M Series C to further build out its cloud platform.
