Ruck.us
Washington, DC, United States
Overview
Ruck.us began in 2011 as a political social network and has pivoted into a free local political fundraising and campaign toolkit. The platform bundles event management, an email blaster, social media marketing, a donations page, and the data needed for campaign finance filing. It remains free to candidates and monetizes by charging 5.75 percent of funds raised, or net 2 percent, similar to Kickstarter or Indiegogo. Co‑founders Nathan Daschle and Jonathan Zucker have partnered with the Democratic Parties in Maryland, Idaho, and Michigan to onboard candidates and local party organizations. The company raised $500,000 to keep the relaunch going and to scale adoption among grassroots campaigns. Next steps include targeting five states with statewide elections next year: Virginia, New Jersey, Kentucky, Louisiana, and Mississippi.
