RunX is developing a solution to automate and simplify the DevOps work involved in Kubernetes, including provisioning, monitoring, configuration, autoscaling and deployment. It offers an open-source project called Opta and is working with about a dozen beta/design partners. The company launched a year ago and completed its first product version in the spring after several months of developer research. RunX has eight employees and plans to double headcount by the end of next year. The founders—CEO Ankur Dahiya and CTO Nitin Aggarwal—draw on experience at Flexport, Google, Lyft and Stripe. RunX operates as a remote-first company with quarterly in-person gatherings and intends to eventually charge for products, likely via an enterprise offering, a cloud service, or a combination.
