Ryd offers an in-car digital payments platform that lets users aggregate payments for services such as fuel, EV charging and car washing via its app or integrations with vehicle systems. The company is accepted at roughly 3,000 partner service stations across seven countries and reports 1.4 million direct customers, plus access to up to 100 million additional customers through partnerships with Mastercard and several car manufacturers. Ryd is working to scale its technology into more vehicles and into BP’s customer base across Europe. The fresh capital from BP is intended to support international expansion and build out the company’s offering. Ryd planned to go live at the first BP filling stations in the fourth quarter of 2021, and the partnership with BP is positioned as strategic for accelerating adoption and distribution.
