Saclàb is a Munich-based marketplace that facilitates the organised buying and selling of pre-loved luxury designer “waitlist” bags. Founded in 2018, the company has built a client network across some 20 countries. It handles high-end transactions—its summer 2022 sale of a Hermès Birkin 20 Faubourg Sous La Neige listed at €265,000 was described by the company as the most expensive handbag ever listed in Germany. Saclàb raised €1.6 million in a seed round to scale its technology infrastructure and to bolster HR and marketing. The startup is preparing for a US soft launch and plans to create an online storefront. It also intends to roll out UX/UI improvements to make the buying and selling experience smoother.
