Sagetis Biotech, founded in 2010 as a spin-off from Grupo de Ingeniería de Materiales del Instituto Químico de Sarriá (IQS), develops release systems to improve administration of drugs for central nervous system diseases. The company is led by Eduard Diviu Terradas and is based in Barcelona, Spain. Its core product focus is on drug-release technologies aimed at improving delivery and efficacy for CNS indications. Sagetis recently closed a $2m second funding round to advance its technology. Investors in the round include Caixa Capital Risc, business angels from the IESE Network and public organizations. The company intends to use the funds to advance its technology, identify new compounds and increase its staff.
