Sailsquare operates an online platform to find, book and share sailing holidays across the Mediterranean, Caribbean, Seychelles, New Zealand and other destinations. The company intends to use recent funding to expand its community in Europe, primarily in France, the UK and Germany. Sailsquare was co-founded by CEO Simone Marini and CMO Riccardo Boatti. The platform runs routes around Italy, Spain, Croatia, Greece, Turkey, France and the Canary Islands, with new routes planned within the year. Founded in June 2012 by Riccardo Boat and Simone Marini and based in Milan, the company has a community of over 25,000 travelers and more than 500 boat owners. Sailsquare raised €500K in seed funding and intends to use the capital to consolidate its business in Italy and to expand into new European markets and the Americas, targeting the Caribbean Sea first.
