Overview
SAVORTEX specialises in sustainable and energy-saving washroom technologies and was launched in 2007. Its latest product, the EcoCurve Smart Dryer, is promoted as offering the lowest carbon footprint per hand dry. The dryer includes a data-monitoring portal that gathers energy-usage and cost information and feeds it to an online dashboard, which the company describes as bringing big-data capabilities to the washroom. SAVORTEX raised £1.5m to develop and launch this range of data-driven eco hand dryers. The company was founded by Syed Ahmed, an ex BBC Apprentice contestant. Royal Bank of Scotland is one of the first adopters and SAVORTEX says the bank’s uptake will enable alleged savings of £30,000 and 14,000 tonnes of waste per building per year.
