Overview
Scala Data Centers designs, builds, and operates hyperscale data centers tailored to cloud and large internet clients throughout Latin America. Founded in 2020 by global asset manager DigitalBridge after acquiring several UOL Diveo sites, the company has already invested more than US$1.6 billion in its regional footprint. Its portfolio totals more than 300 MW of installed and under-development capacity and is targeted to reach 500 MW within five years. Current projects include a planned 54 MW facility in Rio Grande do Sul, part of a broader campus concept that could ultimately scale to 4.75 GW. The firm positions sustainability and international-standard infrastructure as core differentiators to consolidate Brazil as a regional digital hub. Financially, Scala supplements sponsor capital with local debt, having tapped Brazil’s development bank twice for long-term equipment financing. These resources underpin an aggressive expansion roadmap aimed at meeting surging hyperscale demand across the continent.
