ScaleBase builds database-scaling software; its flagship product, Data Traffic Manager, acts as a proxy between clients and databases and can be deployed on premises or in the cloud. The software is designed to deliver realtime scalability without requiring application rewrites or new database installs, reducing over‑provisioning. Target markets include high-growth web and mobile apps such as online gaming and digital media. ScaleBase reports more than 20 customers, including AutoDesk, AppDynamics, Mozilla and a large unnamed mobile provider. The company recently hired CEO Ram Metser and is led technically by founder and CTO Doron Levari. Financially, ScaleBase has raised just under $15 million in total and will use the new capital primarily to grow the team from 15 to 40 employees.
