ScalingData builds an end-to-end IT operations application that leverages the Hadoop ecosystem to trace data center problems to root cause, predict capacity issues, identify emerging failures and highlight latent threats. The product targets data center and IT operations teams by applying big-data techniques to surface and diagnose issues. The company says it will use the newly raised funds to continue developing the product. ScalingData closed a $4.4M funding round led by General Catalyst with participation from Google Ventures and Brian Stevens. In conjunction with the financing, Donald Fischer of General Catalyst joined ScalingData’s board. Founded in 2014, the company is actively hiring.
