Overview
Schüttflix runs an online marketplace for site bulk materials and related construction logistics. The company offers features such as paperless delivery documentation, live tracking and an upstream price comparison portal to streamline construction supply chains. The financing will be used to further grow the marketplace and expand services. Schüttflix says it almost doubled turnover in 2022 to around €90 million. At the start of 2023 it added disposal-of-construction-site services as a high-revenue growth area. The company positions its product as a way to help the construction industry reduce inefficiencies amid sector pressure and regulatory/environmental concerns. Schüttflix is a German constructiontech logistics hub that digitally connects suppliers and carriers with customers to deliver bulk materials such as sand, gravel and grit. The app supplies on-demand materials to customers in road construction, civil engineering, gardening and landscaping. Led by CEO and co-founder Christian Hülsewig, the platform links suppliers and carriers directly with customers to streamline construction-site supply and waste disposal. The company raised USD50M in a Series A and will use the proceeds to fund expansion and continued product development. Schüttflix plans to enter Austria, Poland and the Czech Republic in 2022 and to continue developing digital products and services for all aspects of construction-site supply and waste disposal. To support the expansion it is laying technical, organisational and personnel foundations and will use experienced country managers to drive regional business development and establish country-specific customer service operations. Schüttflix operates a business-to-business app that connects customers directly with partners to order and deliver construction materials. Launched about a year before the article, the platform serves building, civil engineering, gardening and landscaping sectors. The company reports it already achieves over €500k in monthly transactions, supported by over 900 partners operating more than 2,000 vehicles. Schüttflix plans to use new funding for growth, consolidation of sales in Germany, international expansion in 2021, and product development. Its model emphasizes direct app-based connections between customers and logistics partners to streamline materials delivery.
