SCHAD

Friedberger Straße 20, Hungen, Hesse, 35410, Germany

Overview

SCHAD develops mobile software (primarily supported on BlackBerry, iPhone, Android, Windows Phone and tablets such as the iPad) that enables maintenance engineers to remotely access, monitor and manage company plants, systems and facilities. Its main product, Extend 7000, targets mobile access to Factory Automation and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and is being positioned to become a global standard. The company says its technology enables anytime-anywhere access so the closest engineer can be alerted and deployed, reducing unscheduled downtime and cutting maintenance response times and costs. SCHAD counts customers across industry and transport, including Ford, BASF, Vanderlande Industries, FRoSTA, Deutsche Lufthansa, Volkswagen and the airports of Cologne Bonn, Munich and Berlin. The company was awarded the 2010 Innovation Award for “Transforming Enterprise Business Performance” by RIM. Financially, the business has just closed a $4.2 million funding round led by m8 Capital with participation from original seed investor High-Tech Gründerfonds.
