ScholarPro launches as an intelligent matching platform that uses an adaptive quiz to deliver targeted lists of scholarships students actually qualify for. The matching engine is built on the adaptive quiz and aims to strictly qualify students for opportunities. Users answer a few adaptive questions (for example, where they are from) and can apply to scholarships directly through the site. ScholarPro currently lists scholarships only in California but plans to expand steadily. The site is free to use; founder Francis Kim said the company would not reveal revenue plans yet. The startup recently raised just under $1 million led by Sandbox Industries, with participation from Sam Yagan, Mac Harman and KD Capital.
