Science Corporation is a neuro-technology startup founded by Max Hodak (co-founder and former president of Neuralink) that focuses on creating implantable devices to interface directly with the nervous system. Its lead product, PRIMA, is a rice-sized chip implanted in the eye that works with camera-equipped glasses to help people with advanced macular degeneration read letters, numbers and words. Science acquired PRIMA’s assets from France-based Pixium Vision in 2024, refined the technology, and has since run trials with 47 patients across Europe and the U.S., where 80% showed meaningful visual-acuity improvement. The company has submitted a CE mark application and expects European approval by mid-2026, targeting Germany as its first market while it holds ongoing discussions with the FDA in the U.S. Beyond PRIMA, Science is developing a biohybrid neural interface grown from stem cells and an organ-preservation platform called Vessel. Following its Series C, Science has amassed $490 million in total funding and was valued at $1.5 billion post-money, underscoring strong investor confidence despite the pre-revenue stage.
