ScienceIO is developing a data-first healthcare platform that uses natural language processing and machine learning to turn disparate clinical data into high-quality, computable records. The company says it has spent two to three years assembling what it calls a highly representative dataset and cites over 9 million medical conditions, drugs, devices and genes as potential variables. ScienceIO’s product makes health data more searchable and produces analytics rather than passively tracking patients. The startup is currently running pilot programs with several customers but declined to name them; pilot results will inform a realistic timeline for general availability.
