Overview

Scoozy designs next-generation personal electric vehicles that combine mobility-aid practicality with safety and modern transport design. Its flagship product, the Scoozy C, is an all-road vehicle with a lithium-ion battery offering up to 100 kilometres of range, four 16-inch wheels, semi-independent suspension, joystick control with active braking, and prominent LED lighting. The company emphasises independence, freedom, and smart technology and has won a Red Dot Design Award. Scoozy was founded in 2016 and currently operates in 10 countries. The business is led by co-founders Job van de Kieft and Jan-Willem van Gent, who bring experience from the Nuon Solar Team. The recent €1.5M raise will be used to broaden the product range, expand the customer base, and develop a new lower-priced vehicle with a steering wheel slated for launch by the end of next year. Scoozy builds a light electric vehicle (LEV) mobility platform whose first product is a safety-focused mobility scooter. The scooter features active braking, intuitive steering, independent suspension, smart sensors, a unique four-wheel drive and a range of up to 100 kilometres. Scoozy was certified to be road-legal and sold out its first production series; the second series comprises 80 units and is scheduled for delivery in September. The company reports growing pre-order requests from users, dealers and distributors worldwide. Scoozy plans to extensively test product, production and supply chain this year to enable international scaling next year. To support those plans it has raised €1.2M and intends to attract additional growth financing during 2019.
