Scotty Labs
333 Ravenswood Avenue, Menlo Park, CA, 94025, United States
Overview
Scotty Labs develops a tele-operations platform that lets humans virtually control autonomous vehicles to intervene in difficult driving situations. The company was founded by Tobenna Arodiogbu and Usman and is built on the premise that human intelligence is critical to solving autonomous driving. Its product allows human operators to take control from the safety of their homes rather than from inside the vehicle. Scotty positions this human intervention as a way to address hard edge cases while letting AV teams focus on improving autonomy. Its first partner is Voyage, an Udacity spin-out that is testing self-driving vehicles in retirement communities. The company says it will continue to support Voyage in the coming months and years as they pursue level 4 autonomy.
