Screwpulp is an e-book publishing and purchasing platform. Founder Richard Billings began utilizing Start Co. resources, such as 48-Hour Launch, at the early idea stage. Screwpulp is a graduate of Start Co.'s Seed Hatchery 2013 cohort and is Memphis-based. Financially, the company received a $330,000 angel investment. That investment was part of more than $700,000 in angel funding for three cohort graduates. The investments were made by the Start Co. Angels and represent the largest percentage of a cohort that has received post-accelerator validation funding.
