ScribeUp
100 Main St, Cambridge, Massachusetts, 02142, United States
Overview
ScribeUp scans users’ linked financial accounts to identify subscriptions and recurring payments, then routes those payments through the ScribeUp Card, a virtual payment card that can block unwanted charges and enable one-click cancellations. The card lets users sign up for trials without sharing financial account details and automatically blocks charges when trials end, while sending reminders for forgotten trials. The company launched in July and has grown to more than 10,000 active users, who it says save an average of $700 annually from unwanted subscriptions. ScribeUp is a free service and has recently begun generating interchange revenue via partnerships. Founders Jordan Mackler and Yohei Oka started the company in 2020; Mackler serves as CEO. The team plans to use new funding to build features in the pipeline, including price-hike defense, bill reminders, and other personalized ways to save on subscription services.
