Scriptic is a UK-based media tech firm focused on interactive, phone-first shows and content. It leverages generative AI to produce visual and script-writing content and offers a cloud-based creator suite to give creators access to production tools. The company plans to grow its offering of interactive mobile-first programming and to build a community of creators centered on user-generated content (UGC). Sony Innovation Fund topped up the company's Seed round with a $500,000 investment, bringing the Seed financing to a close at $8.7 million. In June the company announced a $5.7 million tranche that was led by BITKRAFT Ventures. Proceeds are earmarked for growth to scale Scriptic’s content and creator tools. Scriptic is a studio creating phone-first, interactive episodic and short-form titles that sit at the intersection of film and games, putting audiences in control of the action. Its production process pairs human writers with generative AI tools (the company first used ChatGPT and DALL·E in 2021) to combine text, images, video and audio into one interactive experience. The studio has launched multiple titles through a proprietary app that has attained 1.5 million organic installs across Apple and Android. Scriptic’s Dark Mode horror anthology, launched in January, exemplifies its use of AI as both a production and creative tool. The company plans to use the new funding to expand its content pipeline and onboard a community of external writers to an AI-led creator service for building, sharing, and monetising stories. Over the next year it also intends to expand its team with hires across tech, production, marketing, creative and design.
