Overview
Seal Software provides a contract discovery, extraction and analytics platform that uses machine learning and natural language processing to find contracts of any file type across enterprise networks and centralize them in a repository. Its tools auto-extract terms and concepts, enabling users to review clauses, identify inconsistent contract language, areas of exposure, and potential revenue leakage. Seal powers two DocuSign Agreement Cloud product extensions—DocuSign Total Search and DocuSign Intelligent Insights—which help users find agreements regardless of origin or storage location and compare similar agreement sections. The company’s solutions were offered as a pre-integrated extension to DocuSign eSignature as part of an ongoing partnership. In March 2019 Seal received a $15M investment from DocuSign, reflecting DocuSign’s efforts to bring intelligence to its product suite. Ulf Zetterberg is co-founder and CEO. Seal Software provides contract discovery, data extraction and analytics solutions using machine learning and natural language processing. Led by Ulf Zetterberg, the company helps customers find contracts of any file type across their networks, extract data, surface risks and opportunities, and centralize agreements. Seal plans to use the $30M in growth capital to continue growing operations and expand its business reach. The company announced a global partnership with DocuSign to distribute Seal technologies through DocuSign’s platform extensions program. DocuSign Total Search (powered by Seal) will let customers centralize digital agreements, organize them with metadata, and search inside documents using natural language terms. Seal currently has more than 200 employees. Seal Software develops software that performs complex analysis of contractual data, locating contractual documents and extracting and presenting key information on language, clauses, clause combinations, and contextual metadata. The product integrates with Salesforce.com's CRM to enable contract discovery and to surface contractual information within Salesforce. Seal also offers a portfolio of professional consulting and implementation services to help customers maximise the benefits of its software. Clients include IBM, Lexis Nexis, Thomson Reuters, Old Mutual, Deutsche Bank, Centrica and other multinational organisations. Tern Plc has invested £50,000 in Seal for under 0.5% of the equity. Tern's director said the technology can be deployed in new markets and significantly improve the analysis of big data sets. Seal Software provides a Contract Discovery suite and a Contract Analytics solution that lets users query contracts in minutes to surface clauses and insights. The analytics product is positioned to expand visibility into contracts across the enterprise. Its solutions are integrated with a wide range of Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platforms. The company says its products are used by hundreds of businesses worldwide, including Fortune 500 financial, marketing, technology and pharmaceutical companies. Led by CEO Ulf Zetterberg and based in San Francisco, Seal intends to use the new funding to continue to grow. The company added software industry veteran Paul Sallaberry to its board of directors as part of the announced financing.
