Sealence
Vicolo San Giorgio 25/27, Buccinasco, MI, 20090, Italy
Overview
Sealence designs and builds electric hydro-jet propulsion systems and powertrains for marine vessels, centered on its DeepSpeed outboard hydro-jet. Its DeepSpeed prototypes have demonstrated a top speed of about 60 knots and a maximum range of roughly 180 nautical miles (~330 km). The company currently has four test vessels (6–15 m) in the water and expects two additional hulls (11 m and 17 m) in the coming months. Sealence confirmed its Sealence 2024–2032 industrial plan, which foresees about €54 million in capex to outfit production and assembly lines and to develop additional core products. It is also progressing on a SAFE-Li gigafactory project to scale battery production; internal battery lines are already operating and the company expects to move them into the gigafactory, potentially from early 2024. Financially, the company has been investing heavily in R&D (around €9 million) and signals continued funding needs linked to its industrial plan and production ramp-up.
