SearchLand

Tagwright House, 35-41 Westland Pl, London, England, N1 7LP, United Kingdom

Overview

Searchland provides a platform for property developers to build homes by making them data-driven and automating their most time-consuming processes. It helps developers find, validate and acquire high-margin development opportunities ahead of competitors. The platform includes digital workflows for admin-heavy tasks such as sending letters of interest to land owners to explore their willingness to sell. Customers include property companies such as Places for People, Galliford Try and Aster Group. The company will use the funds to integrate additional datasets and further automate land sourcing processes. Searchland participated in the Geovation Accelerator Programme in spring 2021, a programme backed by HM Land Registry and Ordnance Survey that provides geospatial and PropTech startups with grant funding and support. SearchLand is a London-based proptech startup founded in 2020 by Hugh Gibbs that provides an off-market site sourcing software-as-a-service for property developers, architects and investors. The platform automates and accelerates the hunt for viable plots by letting users search using data such as title boundaries and ownership, permitted development rights, price paid records, and planning application analysis. Using hundreds of map layers and workflow tools, users can rapidly pinpoint sites that meet specific criteria and contact landowners directly through the platform. In November 2021 the company raised £200k in seed funding (part SEIS and part EIS) from a number of angel investors. SearchLand intends to use the funds to hire sales and marketing personnel and to build out automation tools to further improve the platform. The company is planning for a Series A funding round in 2023.
