Overview
SecondSTAX offers a B2B capital markets infrastructure platform that aggregates African exchanges and enables broker-dealers, asset managers, pension funds and institutional investors to access debt and equity securities across multiple African markets. The platform provides cross-border order routing, market data and the ability for clients to hold assets in various currencies to reduce single-currency risk. Launched in 2020 by co-founders Eugene Tawiah and Duke Lartey, the company is publicly announcing its launch and will initially route market orders across Ghanaian and Kenyan exchanges. SecondSTAX plans to expand to additional countries (Nigeria, South Africa, Morocco and Egypt are target markets) and may later power white-labeled retail investment apps for brokers and third-party wealth tech firms. The company raised $1.6M in pre-seed funding to support country launches, regulatory and licensing work, staff growth and product development. Management expects client-driven revenue to become incrementally meaningful within 18–24 months as the platform scales.
