Section4
72 Spring Street, New York, NY, 10012, United States
Overview
Section4 offers two- to three-week synchronous/asynchronous “sprints” that combine live streams, project work, team work, and one-on-one TA sessions to drive engagement and high completion rates. The platform is priced at roughly $700–$800 per course versus about $7,000 for an elite business-school elective and aims to deliver 50%–70% of that elective’s value at roughly 10% of the cost. Section4 launched programming in March of last year and says it has taught about 10,000 students with completion rates above 70%. Roughly 30% of students are international and the company reserves at least 10% of seats for scholarships. Early corporate adoption includes people from 50 of the Fortune 100, and the company expects to sell seats or memberships to employers as well as to individual learners. Founder Scott Galloway emphasizes attracting and compensating top professors as a key part of the value proposition; the company does not disclose exact faculty compensation terms. The company highlights strong scalability (course sizes have grown from 300 to 1,500 participants) and points to substantial gross-margin potential from large online class sizes.
