Secucloud develops the SecuBox+ hardware and complementary security apps that replace the home wireless router and channel all device traffic over a secure VPN to a German Secucloud server, where a high-end security system filters Trojans, spyware, viruses and other malware. The product includes parental controls (limiting social networks and online games) and a mobile Secucloud app that protects devices outside the user’s own Wi‑Fi. The approach replaces per-device standard security software and centralizes maintenance and updates so users and small businesses can achieve enterprise-level protections at a reasonable price. The company is accelerating development of the SecuBox+ and its security apps following a rapid crowdfunding close. Secucloud is led by founder and CEO Dennis Monner and is based in Hamburg, Germany. Management says crowdfunding (Seedmatch and an upcoming Kickstarter campaign) will cover the company’s capital requirements for current development.
