SecureW2 offers a suite of passwordless technologies, including a tool to issue certificates as digital replacements for passwords to authorize access to customers' Wi‑Fi, ethernet and VPN. Its platform is available across most mobile and desktop operating systems and can connect to cloud identity environments like Okta to extend policy-based security. The company began as an open-source project to help non-Windows identity environments connect Windows devices and was founded by Tom Rixom and Bert Kashyap. SecureW2 has just under a thousand customers and "millions" of users, and until this raise it was bootstrapped and profitable with free cash flow. The company has about 70 employees and expects to end the year with around 80. SecureW2 plans to expand go-to-market efforts, ramp up software development and R&D, and expose machine-learning features for security anomaly detection and capacity planning.
