Selfnation builds made-to-measure jeans for women using a mathematical algorithm that calculates optimal fit from eight body measurements. Customers enter their measurements on selfnation.ch, view a 3D visualization of their jeans, and receive an automatically generated pattern when they order. Finished jeans are produced in sustainable Italian denim and delivered to customers about 14 days after ordering. The company was founded by two ETH graduates, Andreas Guggenbühl and Michael Berli. Selfnation positions its product to reduce the typical trial-and-error shopping (the article notes women try about 20 pairs on average) and emphasizes sustainability. Current plans include further product development, new models, and geographic expansion into Germany.
