Founded in 2024 by CTO Oswaldo Alvarez and CEO Josh Guttman, Sellit9 operates a recommerce trade-in platform that lets consumers trade in electronics and household items for store credit and discounts. The company routes traded items to a network of over 100 refurbishers and partners with 25 merchants to resell or refurbish goods. To date, Sellit9 has helped roughly 3,900 Canadians trade over 6,000 items valued at more than $2.4 million combined. It currently employs a 14-person team and has hired Kyle Rogers as head of customer experience and operations. Sellit9 plans to expand into new categories such as luxury purses, luggage, and eyewear, and to move into the U.S. market. The startup aims to scale its merchant and refurbisher networks as it grows geographically and across product categories.
