Seniority is an online marketplace focused on products for older adults. Launched in February, the site offers roughly 3,000 SKUs and currently imports most inventory but plans to introduce a private label produced in-house. The company plans to distribute its private-label products on other e-commerce platforms such as Amazon and Flipkart and to expand offline through stores in hospitals and retirement communities. Seniority sells about 200–250 products daily at an average ticket of Rs. 1,500, producing roughly Rs. 1 crore in gross merchandise value per month. RPG Ventures owns a majority stake while the two founders, Ayush Agrawal and Tapan Mishra, retain the remainder. The venture arm pegs the Indian elderly-care addressable market at about $1 billion and says the 60-plus demographic is growing and increasingly internet-savvy. The company may seek external investors in the second half of calendar year 2018 once it reaches greater scale.
