SenseHawk is a Saratoga, California–based provider of a cloud SaaS platform and modular applications that help customers develop, construct and operate solar and other infrastructure sites. Its application modules use AI and machine-learning models to reduce costs, boost workforce productivity and improve solar site performance. The platform is used by over 80 customers to analyze more than 28 GW of solar assets across 15 countries. The company is led by CEO and co-founder Swarup Mavanoor and CTO Saideep Talari. SenseHawk recently raised funding to support international expansion and to hire data scientists, product managers and engineers in Abu Dhabi. It plans to use the UAE as a global base to expand across the GCC, MENA and other global markets. SenseHawk builds an AI platform that turns drone-captured data into analytics and insights for solar projects. Its modular platform includes terrain-based analysis, construction monitoring and analytics, and thermal analysis; clients adopt modules based on requirements. The company does not pilot drones itself but helps companies that own and use them extract project-specific data. SenseHawk was founded in December 2015 by Swarup Mavanoor and Rahul Sankhe and is active in the U.S., India and Australia; its engineering team is based in Bangalore. The startup plans to use new funding to develop its core tech and AI platform, add new modules, expand into regions such as Europe and Africa, and grow headcount to about 20 people. It recently raised $2 million to push its business and regional expansion.
