Sensinode develops IP-based embedded software and management solutions that enable real-time physical sensing, tracking and identification across scalable low-power networks for Smart Grid, building automation, asset management and other applications. The company aims to provide software to network devices and tools for managing the resulting distributed networks, per CTO and founder Mikko Saarnivala. Sensinode envisions that the Internet of Things will drive IP and web services technology to all embedded devices. CEO Adam Gould said the company intends to use the funds to accelerate international growth. Sensinode is to receive a €1m investment from Conor Venture Partners. The company previously closed a €1.2m Series A round in early 2010 and is based in Oulu, Finland.
