Sensus Healthcare markets the SRT-100, a superficial radiation therapy system that delivers targeted, low-energy radiotherapy no deeper than the thickness of the skin to treat basal cell and squamous cell carcinomas. The company positions SRT as a noninvasive alternative to Mohs surgery that requires no anesthesia, is painless, avoids tissue damage and scarring, and results in shorter healing time, though it requires multiple short treatment sessions. Sensus was formed in 2010 in Boca Raton, Florida and acquired the SRT-100 from Topex Inc. that year. The device was featured on the TV show “The Doctors” and had reached its 100th sale by September. Sensus reports the SRT-100 is cleared for sale in the U.S., EU, Canada and China and is expanding into more oncology centers and dermatology offices worldwide.
